A Forum for Multidisciplinary Anglo-Saxon Studies

This forum has been conceived to help fill the void that has been created in the facilitation of collegial and constructive exchange of information and discussion between scholars in all fields of study relating to the populations and cultures of the Anglo-Saxon Period (the 5th to 11th centuries) in England, including external relations and comparative approaches.

We present here a statement on the responsible use of the now controversial term "Anglo-Saxon" which has been carefully discussed between some sixty active and experiences scholars in the field. We apologise to colleagues who would have wished to participate in those discussions and have not had an opportunity to support the statement.
